Horizontal and Vertical Lines.

Parallel and Perpendicular Lines.
1. Two lines are parallel if their slopes are equal, that is, if

  or if both lines are vertical.
2. Two lines are perpendicular if the product of their slopes is $- 1,$ that is, if
  
  $\begin{matrix} m_{1} m_{2} = - 1 \end{matrix}$
